Delete your account

In the app

Open Where Was It and go to Settings.
Tap Your account.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

If you are the only owner of a circle other people still use, the app asks you to hand it over first. Make another member an owner from the circle's members screen, then delete your account.

Without the app

Email hello@getwherewasit.com from the address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm by email and delete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your account: email address, name, plan, credits and preferences.
Your membership of every circle.
Circles you were the last member of are closed so nobody can open them. To have their contents erased completely as well, ask in your email and we will do it within 30 days.

What is kept

In circles other people still use, your past moves keep your name, so their history still makes sense. The items and places belong to the circle and stay with its members.
Per-request records of the sentence feature (time, token counts, outcome) are kept for cost reporting, without anything that identifies you.
Database backups may hold deleted data for a short period until they are replaced.

Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on the phone. If you never signed in, that is all of your data. More detail is in the privacy policy.
